A vintage porcelain portrait plate that features a Victorian man and two woman in a musical setting. The border is a red wine color decorated with a gold overlay design. This was specifically made for hanging and we see the two holes in the back for wire or ribbon.
The E.S. Prussia mark is the green Prov. Sxe hallmark indicating that was manufactured in the first quarter of the 20th century. Mary Gaston identifies this plate in her 4th Series as #616 and it is featured on page 218.
Measuring 8 1/2 inches in diameter we find a few tiny areas of rub but nothing detrimental to the display quality. The portrait area has extra fine detail and the gold overlay is in surprisingly good condition considering its age.
