A antique porcelain chocolate pot set featuring trumpet flowers and leaves under a shiny glaze. The fine white porcelain shows shades of brown and lavender. We see areas of raised 18K gold hand painted enameling around the floral decoration. The base and rims of the pot and cups have a scalloped edge. The handles are straight at the top then flare out and down with cutout areas.
We find a few hallmarks; one is the RS Germany blue wreath mark which was used c. 1910 to 1945. We also see gold importers mark on the pot and cups from Montgomery Ward Co. with hand painted. We would place this set right around 1910 because of the more fanciful mold design which was inherent in earlier R.S. Prussia pieces. The molds tended to get simpler and less fancy as the century wore on.
The chocolate pot measures just about 9 inches tall to the top of the lid. The cups are 3 inches tall and saucers are 5 inches in diameter. We have inspected each piece carefully and are happy to report that there is absolutely no damage. We see just a bit of decoration wear to the chocolate pot lid but all in all, this is in immaculate antique condition.
