A vintage mesh purse that features a clay color body. The mesh is brass on the inside with the exterior painted a soft gray. The frame is brass showing a double ball closure. The strap is chain link and mounted at each end on opposites sides. This allows you to leave the purse on your arm and access it at the same time. We do not find a lining to this. The mesh is attached to the frame with brass loops.
Stamped on the interior of the frame with the Whiting Davis hallmark and the number 2894 helps us date this to c. 1920s.
Measuring 7 inches wide at the bottom and 5 1/4 inches tall to top of the ball clasp. The wrist chain has a 4 1/4 inch drop. There is a bit of scratching to the frame but absolutely no damage to the mesh. The color will go with whatever you are wearing which makes this extra special!
