Superb vintage porcelain charger that features yellow and pink roses with a layer of gold on one side. There is delicate lily of the valley interspersed between the roses as well. The gold decoration surrounds the flowers and has raised beading on its surface. The rim is also decorated with gold and there is a floral gold decoration at each area where the rim scallops. This has two holes in the back for hanging telling us this is decorative only and should not be used to serve food.
Marked on the reverse with the blue bird in shield from the E.S. Prussia factory. This particular hallmark helps us date the manufacturing period to c. 1920s - 1930s. More than likely this was decorated by a factory artist after the glaze had been fired. The gold would have been applied last then fired again.
Measures 12 inches in diameter with just a bit of wear to the gold but nothing that detracts. There is a few small bites off the bottom rim; we have pictured the worst and it is very small. This is absolute stunner!
