An antique porcelain cracker jar featuring a center portrait of two lovely ladies in a garden. One woman is seated and one standing. Their flowing gowns give us a glimpse of a simpler, more elegant life of whiling away the afternoon in a leisurely, graceful fashion. The jar has a white and dark green background with just a hint of yellow under the glaze.
The LS&S beehive mark was used by the Levi Strauss & Son import company and tells us that this was manufactured between 1891-1900 in Austria.
Measuring 9 inches handle to handle wide, approx. 6 inches high to top of lid and 21inches in circumference around the fattest part of the body. We find wear to the gold filigree decoration but there is no damage to porcelain. The lid is a bit wobbly but this is due to the age.
