An antique porcelain cup and saucer set that features the portrait of a young woman with dark brown hair. She is dressed in a French Revival style with a fan and rosettes at her bosom. The portrait is a transfer print but the rest of this set is painstakingly hand painted. The cobalt area has laurel chains of gold and the brown area of the cup shows gold fleur de lis designs. You'll notice that the interior of the cup is filled with gold.
The marks are from the Hutschenreuther factory that was purchased in Austria. The marks are from the decorating division of this factory and date this wonderful set to circa 1909.
There are two tiny specks of wear on the brown background of the saucer. We did not find any damage to the porcelain. The bumps you see at the bottom of the cup are extra slip from the manufacturing process. The saucer measures just over 4 inches in diameter and the cup is a complimentary size at 2 inches tall and 2 inches in diameter.
