A vintage porcelain dessert plate set that features plenty of gold decoration. The square mold makes this set really stand out. The gold hand painting is wisteria accents along with heavily gilded rims. We like the cutout handles on the master cake plate.
The mark on this set is the R.S. Prussia EPOS hallmark which dates this to c. 1930's. Items with this mark '..represent a time when little china was exported from Germany to the United States.', Mary Gaston, Encyclopedia of R.S. Prussia, 4th Series, p.116.
The serving plate measures 10 1/4 inches handle to handle with six individual plates measuring 5 1/2 inches square. With only very light (minuscule) wear to gold in a few areas this set looks to have been used specifically for decorative purposes and is one of a kind! The artist has signed with H.P. Patten on the back.
