An antique glass plate featuring a portrait of a young child in the center. The rim has the entire alphabet pressed into the glass. The glass itself is a lovely light blue color.
Manufactured by Brice Higbee, this is known as Boy Plate or Emma Plate. We personally think its Emma. They were produced approximately c. 1893 and are hard to find in colored glass.
The circumference is 6 1/2 inches making it perfect for child size portions. We see bubbles in the glass from the making. There are some rougher spots underneath where the rim meets the interior of the plate. We believe these are from the manufacturing process.
