An Art Nouveau porcelain chocolate pot featuring a naturalistic mold decoration. This has a leafy tipped spout, a tree branch handle and more branched areas seen in the mold. The top of the pot has a pinched design and the lid has a pine cone finial with a sprinkling of gold. The decoration is climbing pink roses with thorny branches. The lid has rose buds in the same pink color.
The Rosenthal hallmark with Pate Sur Pate is seen on the bottom of pot. The markings help us date this particular piece to c. 1899' the height of the Art Nouveau movement.
Measuring 11 inches tall and 8 inches handle to spout wide we find just minimal gold loss. There is no damage to porcelain which is absolutely amazing for its age. Rosenthal is still known for its fine porcelain pieces and this pot is no exception.
