A Victoria porcelain chocolate pot featuring hand painted heavy gilding on the applied handle. The mold itself has delicate little leaves which have been hand painted in a very light green. To finish this elegant decoration we find factory applied gold foiling around the rims and bottoms. This has a lovely raised base as well. Finished with a high gloss glaze over white porcelain to add to the elegance.
The hallmarks are from the A. Lanternier studio in Limoges, France and helps us date to c. 1891. Amazing that such a delicate item that was probably used every day has lasted so long.
Measures 10 inches tall we find that the interior lid rim has 2 rough spots by the spout area but we do not find any cracks, chips or breaks. A small amount of gold wear from age and cleaning. Check our shop for some matching cups!
