An antique porcelain butter dish featuring a Victorian rose decoration. The lid has two areas of pink roses and gold swirled decoration. The base has molded handles and four sides with a matching rose design. We would approximate that this could hold one half pound of butter easily.
Hallmarked with the LS&S blue mark tells us that this was manufactured by Lazarus Strauss & Sons in Austria prior to 1900. LS&S not only manufactured porcelain but imported items into the U.S. They had stores based in New York City.
Measuring 8 inches in diameter for the base and and overall height of 4 inches. There is a manufacturing pop on the interior rim. This area is covered when lid is in place. We see a black line which was again done in manufacturing. We have priced accordingly. A beautiful item for your dining table.
