An antique hand blown blue glass whiskey set featuring a pinched sided decanter and three optic paneled cups. All pieces have hand enameled white flowers and applied handles. The glass is a gorgeous blue and the hand enameling is outstanding.
Made by the New England Glass Company, the jug has a deeply dished base with ground pontil, a New England trademark. We would date this rare set to the late 1880's. The color is known as Bluerina.
The jug measures 7.5 inches tall. We find a straw mark on the interior of the glass which was done in the making. You find that each of the cups vary in height with the tallest being 1 7/8 inches tall and the smallest 1 5/8 inches tall. Two of the cups show flakes at the rim; we show the worst in our photo.
