An antique sterling silver travel clock featuring an elaborate Art Nouveau face. The clock itself is an over-sized Swiss movement pocket watch. You are able to open the case to reveal the watch nestled into a purple silk lining. The front of the case is has a classic Art Nouveau design with a floral motif. The top area shows elaborate scripted etched initials. The back of the case has an alligator embossed leather cover with an easel design for desk or beside.
We find diamond markings on the silver are near the latch with indicates to us that this is French made. This dates to c. 1880s - 1890s for a time period; possibly to just past the turn of the 20th Century.
The case measures 5 1/4 inches long and 4 1/4 inches wide. The watch alone measures 3 1/4 inches from stem to bottom and 2 5/8 inches wide. The watch looks to have a bit of a bent hinge. We did hear ticking but does not last. It will need servicing. The case is in outstanding antique condition with just a bit of wear to the leather on the back.
