An antique glass pedestal covered compote that features a prayer mat pattern on the lower portion of the compote and a wonderful horseshoe finial on the lid with an anchor in the center.
This Early American Pattern Glass compote was manufactured by Adams and Co. and is c.1881. It is known as their Good Luck or Prayer Mat pattern.
This is a low standard compote that measures 9 inches in height and a nice 8 inches in diameter. We find nips off the underside of the lid rim which isn't very noticeable when lid is in place. The finial shows nips as well, which we have tried to picture. We have priced accordingly due to the age related damage.
