An antique porcelain clock featuring playful cherubs on the front and both sides of the clock case. Some of the cherubs are motioning towards the sky while others are playing musical instruments. There is some gold sponging that decorates the edges but we believe there was more of this at one time. The mold itself is very Victorian with a pointed top and four squat legs at the bottom.
The movement is marked Mercedes, Made In Germany and is key wound. The original key is with this but we have not touched it nor wound it. The clock is currently not working but may just need a nice cleaning. The porcelain case is hallmarked with Victoria Austria and tells us that this was manufactured c. 1891-1900.
Measuring 8.25 inches high and 4.5 inches wide we find absolutely no damage to the porcelain with just a bit of age related wear to the decoration.
