An antique fish dinnerware set that features detailed scenes of different fish with seashells, seaweed, etc. The extra large oval serving platter has molded handles at both ends which are highlighted with hand painted gold. The sauce boat is decorated with sea life shown on outside as well as inside the bowl. Also included are 12 dinner plates; three each of four different designs that compliment the large platter and sauce boat.
The hallmark we find is from Rosenthal Porcelain which started manufacturing the Versailles dinner line in 1894 in their Selb factory. The mark on this set tells us that it was manufactured c. 1910.
Upon inspection of each piece we are confident in stating that these have never been used. There is no damage and there are no surface scratches. The gold on the rims shows very slight age related wear from cleaning; but other than that these are as close to new as you can get. We have included many photos. If you would like to see close up pictures of the decorations, contact us and we will be happy to email them to you.
