An antique double pickle castor featuring an Art Nouveau silver plated stand. The lids are embossed with a flower pattern as is the bases of the glass inserts. The holder also features figural Viking legs. We find a set of silver tongs and believe these are original to the castor set.
The Early American pattern glass jars are a Block and Star pattern which we believe were manufactured by Boston & Sandwich. The mark on the silver plate was used by Rogers, Smith & Co. and is c. 1862-1877.
Overall the set measures 7 inches wide and 10 1/4 inches to top of handle with the glass jars measuring 4 inches high. We found a flake on the base rim of one jar which disappears when sitting in the holder. Other than that, this is in beautiful condition!
