A porcelain pedestal cake stand which features the well known Melon Eaters or Dice Throwers portrait in the center. This portrait was also used on R.S. Prussia porcelain pieces. The rich detail and colors of the portrait are amazing! The under rim has a fine turquoise color with gold foil accents. The rim itself is decorated with coin gold and gold foil.

The Rosenthal mark puts the manufacturing date at c. 1937. The Aida white and ivory line was attributed to Otto Koch who was a designer and decorator with Rosenthal in the early years. We do not believe that much of this line was made.

This is a larger piece measuring 10.25 inches diameter by 3 inches high. There is absolutely no damage with just a small amount of gold wear to the rim. A perfect representation of the quality that is Rosenthal!
