An antique Japanese porcelain berry bowl featuring hand painted orange poppies. The flowers are set against a dark green background fading to white in the center. We see the very bottom has holes to help drain moisture away from the berries. The rim is decorated with gold and raised enameling. This sits upon three cabriole legs.
The hallmark is one of the first that Noritake used for the American import market and tells us that this is c. 1910.
Measuring 7 inches in diameter and approx. 3 inches high we find this to be in wonderful antique condition with just a bit of wear to the gold.
