A porcelain plate showing a portrait scene of Mother and Daughter. The signature tells us that this is a Maude Goodman scene entitled Lovebirds. As we can see, the little girl is playing with the birds as her mother stands at the bird cage. This is so very charming and made specifically as a wall hanging.
The hallmark on the back is the blue Victoria Austria mark which was used at the turn of the 20th Century; c. 1900.
Measuring 9 inches in diameter to the outside edge, we find just a bit of wear on the picture. There is no damage to porcelain. Perfect for a nursery!
