An antique porcelain trembleuse cup featuring a allegorical portrait scene on the front. The portrait is surrounded by deep red and green geometric decoration which is highlighted by gold foiling. The cup handles are painted with a heavy gold as is the lid finial although we do see a bit of wear here.
The hallmarks on the saucer are a blue bindenshield, the green Wheelock importer's mark and M.Z. Austria. All of these tell us that this late 1800's for a manufacturing date. The cup shows the blue bindenshield as well.
Measuring just about 3" high with the lid and 3" handle to handle, except for some age related wear and a few scratches, the cup is in beautiful condition without damage to porcelain. The saucer does have two hairlines. These can be seen from the back but because of the decoration are basically hidden from view on the front. We have priced this set accordingly.
