An antique glass plate depicting a young girl at one with nature. She is caring a basket over her arm and stopping to enjoy the plants in the forest. The interior of the plate is frosted and the border is a 101 design and is seen around the entire rim. The detail on this is just amazing.
Many have said this was manufactured by Iowa City Glass Co. but we have learned that there is documentation from this time period that points to Crystal Glass, Pittsburgh as the manufacturer. It is called the Elaine plate by collectors and dates from 1879.
Measuring 10 inches at the widest, we see some scratching from age but this does not have any damage such as cracks or chips that we detected. A really nice find for the antique glass collector.
