A vintage blue jasperware cameo brooch featuring cherubs at play. The background is a light blue and the cherub scene is is done in contrasting ivory. The detail on this is amazing. The frame, although unmarked, tested as sterling silver. There is a silver corkscrew rim at the base.
The backside of the cameo has Wedgwood made in England impressed into the jasperware. We also see 1956 which we believe is the date of manufacture.
Measuring just over 2 inches long and 1 1/4 inches wide, we find some tiny cracks in one of the cherub's arms. This was done when the brooch was made and does not effect the integrity of the item. This could use a bit of cleaning but we would take it to a jeweler rather than trying this at home.
