An antique cake / cookie platter that features hand painted American Beauty red roses. The rim is deeply scalloped and the background is a light blue to darker green at the bottom. This is a large plate with molded handles that have been lavished with gold.
Marked RC with crossed swords which tells us that this was manufactured by Rosenthal Porcelain and is late 19th century; c. 1898. The mold name is Monbijou which was one of the first molds from Rosenthal.
Measures 12" from handle to handle and 11" wide and is undamaged; showing just a bit of wear to the paint. This presents beautifully!
