An antique porcelain olive dish or lemon server featuring hand painted cherries. The colors are red and green against a dark background that fades to yellow at the bottom. The square design is a bit rare as typically these serving pieces were round. The handle is painted with a thick layer of coin gold and the back is done in a opalescent glaze.
Hallmarked with the green OE&G wreath mark tells us that this was manufactured in Austria and is c. 1890 - 1900.
Measures 5" square and just over an 1" deep. This is in beautiful condition, and although lacking a signature, we are sure this was done by a factory artist. It is just lovely!
