An antique porcelain bowl that features a decoration of hand painted chestnuts. Along with the chestnuts we see green leaves and patches of beige. The rim has a large, deep scallop rim that is lined with gold. The interior is done in a light beige with a glossy glaze. There are four feet at the base that keeps this up off a table surface.
Manufactured in Bavaria, we see the J&C or Jaeger mark on the bottom which tells us that this dates to the late 1800's to c. 1900.
Measuring 7.25" long x 6.25" wide at widest center point we find slight gold wear to the rim which could easily be re-gilded but we found no damage to porcelain. The decoration of chestnuts was very popular for 19th Century artists and this one is very well done.
