An antique porcelain fish set that features a hand painted aquatic scene on each piece. Every area is hand painted and all rims are lavished with 24K coin gold. We have tried to capture the detail of what the artist has painted. All plates have a similar theme with fish swimming in different directions and the cottage on left or right of the plate. We cannot describe the artistry in words or even in pictures to do this grouping justice. This set consists of platter and nine individual plates.
Hallmarked with a LR&L which tells us that this is the work of Lazeyras, Rosenfeld & Lehman decorating firm. The Coiffe mark tells us the Limoges factory which was the manufacturer of the fine porcelain. Mulville was the LR&L artist that painted each of these pieces and the signature can be found on the bottom right portion of the platter. The LR&L studio was not in business very long which makes this an exceptional find. If you are a Coiffe or Limoges collector this is a superior display group and certainly one of a kind.
Measurements: The platter is 24" by 10" wide in the very center. Each individual plate is 9.25" in diameter.
Condition: The platter has a chip at the right bottom with a flake off the back associated with the damage. We also find a line in the glaze on the back that does not show through to the front. We have 2 individual plates with flakes off the back as well. None of this is a detriment to the display quality as you can see from our photos. All could easily be repaired if you so choose. Our price does reflect the condition issues.
Please email us for additional pictures as we are only allowed 9 here and we do have more close-ups of the hand painted detail.
Shipping: We will ship in multiple boxes to ensure safe arrival at its destination.
