An antique glass water bottle carafe featuring a block pattern on the lower body. This looks mold blown as you can see a pontil mark on the bottom. The neck has two grooved areas and flares out at the mouth.
The pattern is aptly named Block and Fan aka Block with Fan Border. Originally issued by Richards and Hartley Flint Glass c. 1885. It was their No. 554. reissued by U.S. Glass Co. C. 1891.
Measuring 8.5" tall bottom and 17.5" in circumference at the widest area we find a few striation marks at the mouth opening due to age. A bit of wear on the bottom. There is no damage such as chips or fleabites. Very clean for such an old piece of glass.
