An antique, hard paste porcelain cream soup set that features a center portrait of a beautiful woman with dark hair. The portrait sits against a pale creamy yellow background with gold laurel leaves decorating around the portrait area and bottom half of the cup. The top half of the cup and outer rim of the liner are a deep cobalt blue with plenty of gold decorating the handles and rims. You'll see that there is also gold decoration on the interior of the cup.
Hallmarked with a R&C crown mark and the mold name of Claire tells us that this was manufactured by Rosenthal and is c. 1902.
The cup measures 5 inches across from handle to handle, 3 1/2 inch opening, and just over 2 inches high. The saucer is 5 1/4 inches in diameter. There is a shallow flake off of the underside rim on the saucer. This in no way deflects from the display value of this set. The price does reflect this small flaw. You will not be disappointed in the quality of this set.
