An antique porcelain ice cream tray featuring a portrait in the center surrounded by cobalt blue. The mold makes the portrait subject look almost angelic. Constance has flowing blond hair and a violet dress. The very edge has gold sponging to finish the decoration with cut out handles at each end. We see just a bit of the gold filigree decoration on the cobalt area. This has faded with age.
The Rosenthal hallmark on the bottom helps us date this to c. 1898. We also see the name Alice under the mark which is the mold name.
Measuring 13.5 inches long, 8.25 inches wide and 2.5 inches deep we find an area on the table rim (bottom) that has a line in the porcelain with a small piece missing. This does not effect the display quality in the least but we have priced this accordingly.
