This Victorian schoolbook is "Warren's New Primary Geography" by D.M. Warren and published in 1880 by Cowperthwait & Co. This has numerous maps and engravings inside as well with some maps in color. The book starts out with Part I:Introductory Lessons which includes surface of the land, maps, climate, plants and animals, races of men, states of society, points of a compass, occupations, divisions of water and more. Part II:Descriptions of Countries which includes Western Hemisphere, Eastern Hemisphere, Asia, United States, Oceanica and more. There are questions with the lessons and ideas for object lessons, and teacher helps.
This work is app. 9"x7.5" with 88 pages. This has hard covered boards. This is in good condition overall with wear. There is corner, edge, spine wear and bumping. There is soiling to the boards. The binding is tight and all pages intact. There is some age toning and spotting here and there. There is a name, place, and date in ink inside along with some old stamps on the inside blank page. There are pencil scribblings on the back blank page along with more stampings. There is some foxing and tears to some inside pages with one map page having a rip 2/3 through it though it is still attached. There are a few pencil scribblings inside and 7 small illustrations have some lighter brown colorings to them - not sure if colored pencil or crayon. There are no offensive odors.
