This antique work is: Plu-Ri-Bus-Tan: A Song That's By No Author, A Deed without a Name by Q.K. Philander Doesticks (Thomson, Mortimer N.) and published by Livermore & Rudd in 1856. It appears to be a first edition and was illustrated by John M'Lenan. This work is done in verse and is a humorous satire on American history and historical events. "When I began this work, I assumed the right to distort the facts, to mutilate the records, to belie history, to outrage common sense, and to speak as I should please, about all dignitaries, persons, places, and events without the slightest regard for truth or probability, I have done it..."
