This Victorian book is “She Fell In Love With Her Husband" by E. Werner and published by M.A. Donahue with an 1892 copyright. This book chronicles an arranged marriage between an impoverished Baroness and a playboy millionaire who is a commoner. The couple is caught up in the midst of a revolt at the mining works responsible for generating those millions. Socialism is an undercurrent with the evils of lax discipline and losing of work ethic targeted. The indifferent playboy must become a man to squelch the rebellion and save his marriage. The Baroness must leave her pride in title and position in order to bridge the social gap in her marriage.
This old book is app. 7.5”x5” with 336 pages. This has cloth over hard boards with a paste down illustration. This is in good to very good condition overall with some corner, edge, spine wear and bumping. There is some soiling to the covers. The binding is tight and all the pages intact. There is a name in pencil inside. There is age toning and browning to pages.
