This lovely old butter dish also has another removable section inside with small holes for use as a strainer. In summer under this little section chipped ice could be put inside to keep the butter or cheese cool when serving. This has a "M" in green paint on the inside of the lid. This is app. 3.75" in height and app. 5.5" at the widest point. There is a tiny flake on the inside of the lid rim on the inside edge which cannot be seen from the outside. There are some glaze flaws to the rim edges as shown in the last photo. There are some glaze flaws to the strainer part and to the bowl in spots. Inside of the bowl is a dark firing spot. The gold gilt to the bowl rim is nearly worn off.
As always if you need more information or photos, please do not hesitate to inquire.
