The stories are: Ellen And Sarah Or The Samplers, Deceitful Rachel or The Cut Sleeve, and Dermot The Fisher-Boy of Inniskerry. This book was listed as a "Sunday-School Book" with Ellen And Sarah about "two girls who go out into service, and in whose career the evil of vanity is portrayed."
This book is app. 6”x4” with 204 pages and advertising for Presbyterian publications at the end. This has cloth hard-covered embossed covers. This is in good condition overall with corner, edge, spine wear and bumping. There is fabric wear at corners and spine ends. There is fading to spine so the gilt is gone. There is a gift inscription inside. The binding is tight and all pages intact. There is age toning, and there is quite a bit of yellowing throughout. There is old water staining splotches to top, along spine top, and at some edges - but this is old and there is no sticking damage or mildew. The book is complete and there are no offensive odors.
