On June 2, 1953 Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was crowned. People flocked to watch the procession, flags waved, cameras flashed, and factories churned out souvenirs fit for the royal occasion! This piece was one of those by SandLand Ware of England. This lidded jar has the coat-of-arms on the top along with the coronation date while the sides have an applied gold floral pattern. The jar is app. 4inches tall and app. 3.5inches in diameter. This does not have any chips, cracks, or hairlines. However, there is some crazing at top and bottom edges and at the edges of the lid. This crazing also has some light browning in spots. There is one rough spot on the bottom edge of jar which looks like dripped glaze. There is a little wear to the gold in spots.
