This antique photoplay was of "The Black Pirate" by MacBurney Gates - a Douglas Fairbanks Production. This was copyrighted in 1926 and printed by Grosset & Dunlap. A swashbuckling adventure and romance set upon the high seas! There are 6 colored illustrations from the production inside. This was directed by Albert Parker and starred Douglas Fairbanks, Billie Dove, Tempe Pigott, and Donald Crisp. Fairbanks stars as a young man seeking revenge on pirates for the death of his father. He poses as a notorious pirate in order to bring them justice .
This work is app. 7.5”x5” with pages 220pages. This has cloth covered hard-boards. This is in good condition overall and has wear with corner,edge, spine wear and bumping. There is soiling to the covers. The hinges are not cracked and all pages are intact and the book is complete. There is some toning and yellow spotting inside. The inside is clean overall and there are no offensive odors
