Here we have two books by Philip Hart: The Mysterious Trail and The Golden Lure. Both of these were published by Saalfield and both have a 1934 copyright by the same. These are illustrated and have their original dust covers. The Mysterious Trail has on the inside of the dust cover: "Having helped an old prospector locate a buried treasure, Robert Taylor spends the winter on the ranch, awaiting word fro him. His friend, Arthur Mills, joins him and when spring comes the boys set out to find the old man. After many adventures in the mountains and being warned off by a gang of ruffians who try to assassinate them, the lads follow a mysterious trail and locate the prospector, who leads them to the place where still more of the treasure is concealed." The Golden Lure has: When he graduates from military school, Bob Taylor leaves for the West. He saves Lun Mooney, an old prospector, from bandits, and the old man tells Bob of a cache of gold in the mountains, asking him to help find it. Bob has become interested in Ruth Chance, but decides to accept the offer. While in the mountains, he is surprised to meet Ruth and a former classmate, who is her cousin. The girl is kidnapped, and Bob rescues her, at the same time locating the treasure."
