Boston and Sandwich Glass first produced pressed glass in America. The early molds were three part molds. This matched pair of medium sized compost dishes are deeply pressed in thumbprint pattern. The compotes dated from Circa 1830s-1850s. The pair of Sandwich glass pressed glass compotes have footed domed bases with fluted pedestal stems. The lovely crystal clear compotes are in fine condition with no damage. They were part of a lifetime collection of fine antiques. The measurements of the compotes are 6.25" diameter by 4.25" high.
