Gorgeous and large Imari Ironstone platter, made by G L Ashworth Bros. Hanley England, the mark was used 1862-1890. The pattern name is Aurora; pattern.. The pattern was first manufactured by Francis Morley and Co. Staffordshire England, Morley bought the Masons ironstone designs and molds after Charles Mason declared bankruptcy in 1848, thus the use of Mason's crown mark. . The Imari Ironstone patterns were popular in the 18th and early 19th century then revived in the 3rd Quarter to later 19th century and early 20th century. This platter is in excellent condition, measures a large 14.75" by 11.75". It is a piece of art as well as a fine example of Imari. I love this platter, I think you will too!
