Heavily influenced by the Mid Century dynamics, this beautiful Japanese Art Pottery Vase spans the traditional with the colorful splash and crazing so typical of the 50's. This art pottery vase is signed in red characters on the bottom of the vase and also on the wooden box it came in. It has been stored in the box and appears to never been used. It belonged to a lifetime collector and dealer. The crazing is intentional, the vase is mint in box. This Japanese art pottery vase also features charming birds across its body. The vase measures 10" high, approximately 7" in diameter comes with its wooden fitted box. In Japan ceramic pots are stored in signed wooden boxes, known as 'Tomobako', both for their protection and to authenticate the provenance of the maker.
