Elegant and in superb condition, obviously display use only, this Chinese Lacquer Ware Teapot is marked MAW Chilin & Co. Foo Chow China. It dates early 20th century to possibly mid-century. It is carved wood with fine lacquer decor and hand painted metallic silver leaves motif.
The mark indicates early rather than late. The rich black is accented by elegant silver leaves. The teapot has rich gold lacquer lining on the interior of the lid and pot. In very fine condition, this lovely teapot measures 7" high, 8.5" handle to spout. It came from an antique dealers lifetime collection in Oregon. You will love this lovely Chinese heirloom, a true focus piece for a collection.
