The E.S.PROV SXE Germany mark stands for Ehrhard Schlegelmilch the son of Reinhold Schlegelmilch of the famous RS Prussia porcelain. The sons followed in their father's footsteps creating the finest of egg shell porcelain. This set is very early 20th century beginning to show the Art Deco influence. The mark was used from 1902. By 1915 "made in" besides the country of origin was required by the McKinley Tariff act so this helps date the mark. This lovely set is beautifully hand decorated with pearlized interior glazes. The size is either for formal tea or use as a chocolate set. The tea pot measures 7" to the covered finial, approximately 7" wide spout to handle. The set consists of the covered pedestal teapot (chocolate pot), the covered pedestal sugar, 3 cups and saucers with 3 extra saucers. It is in fine condition with no chips or cracks.
