Bright and lovely this is a fine example of the bell pulls that hung on a wall with a bell on the base to call servants, usually in the parlor or dining room. The bell pull is a long strip of beautifully colored needlepoint backed by period material as pictured. It is hand made and in excellent condition. I purchased this back east many years ago at a major area auction. The hanger and the bell loop at the base are wrought iron. It is in excellent condition and measures 34.5 inches by 4.75 inches wide. A lovely piece to re-purpose and enjoy. This fine textile dates late 19th century to turn of the 20th century.
