This lovely black enameled on wood mount brooch pin has the Circa 1880s open clasp. It is in the mourning style but so stunning with the bright hand painted enamel floral bouquet against the black background. It features a delicate gilt scroll border. In fine condition as pictured it measures 2.25 by 1 5/8 inches. This was part of my mother's (Harriet Free Collection) jewelry collection that she searched all over for. She used these pieces on her period costumes on her dolls. Her collection is displayed in "Yesterday's Playthings" part of the Powell County Montana Museum.
