Elegant and lovely, this deep cobalt porcelain vanity jar has a simple sprig floral enameled green and gold motif which is signed under the leaves by the artist. It has a lovely gold border on the jar. The fitted cover sits inside the hand formed base, which has an interesting finger dimple in the blank on one side. It is in excellent condition, measuring 4.5 inches in diameter. The jar is marked on the base: "Chrysalia…Limoges France"…."Peint a la main". Purchased in Paris in 1995, this wonderful old vanity jar was purchases for 338 Euros from the shop of the maker of origin. The card reads: “Chrysalia Orfevre, ateliers crees a Paris en 1868”. The explanation of the vanity jar on the back reads: “A bouiubouviere Porcelains? Limoges Bleu (le or de) Tour”, etc. This was part of a lifetime collection of cobalt art glass treasures, be sure and see our other fine pieces.
