This scarce and very desirable 19th century sterling pattern is Versailles, patented in 1885 by Gorham Sterling and designed by Anton Heller for Gorham. The different pieces in this amazing pattern each have distinct motifs. The designs were taken from the Versailles Palace by the designer. These are the very large dinner forks, which feature a native American warrior or medicine man with an animal skin headdress. They measure 8" long.
The forks are very heavy, richly decorated back and front. We have more to offer in this pattern from an estate that handed down their treasures over 2 centuries. All are the old style original heavy and highly embossed sterling flatware. There are over 4 troy ounces in these 2 forks. They are beautiful and in very fine condition as pictured.
