This lovely vintage ring is spectacular and beautifully detailed using the choicest of fine turquoise, coral and sterling silver. It is in very fine condition as pictured with no damage. The stones are turquoise, white and red coral and black jade. The sterling ring is size 7 with lovely beaded accents. It is signed by the artist on an interior plaque that I have pictured for you. This artist's work is very much in demand, I am privileged to offer this fine estate piece.
Cherokee Woman (bio reference): Veronica Poblano is an award winning Zuni silversmith and fetish carver. Her work is collected worldwide.
She began carving stone when she was just 14. She was encouraged by a gallery owner, Joe Tanner, in Gallup, New Mexico. She earned extra income by carving small animal figures, and then in the 70's she carved Disney characters. She was awarded the SWAI fellowship in 1993 and was awarded a grant that she used to purchase a motorized lapidary system, the one that she uses to this day. It was "a dream come true" because it allows her to work quickly and more efficiently in the cutting and grinding of the gemstones that she inlays in her jewelry.
Veronica believes her richest reward for her efforts has been her ability to give back to the community. She has participated with SWAIA in Ft Worth, TX teaching Deaf mute children and demonstrating how she works. Her ideal is to open a shelter for the less fortunate children.
Veronica's art is elegant and beautiful. She uses only the best quality material and produces exquisite jewelry designs that come from her soul. She carries on the Poblano legacy as her father, Leo Pablano, was widely known as the best and most versatile Zuni artist.
