Preserve a lovely piece of history with this charming antique brooch! Created in 18k yellow gold and sterling silver, this piece dates from the Georgian Period, circa 1840?s-1850?s. The front of the brooch showcases a quartz and glass doublet in an ornate frame adorned with natural diamonds. A rope of beaded sterling silver surrounds the doublet, which is ported from the underside to accentuate its Devon cream-hued translucence. Adding sparkle to the glow of the doublet, circlets of rose-cut diamonds glisten on the ends of flourishes of beaded sterling silver. The brooch closes from the back with a bar and fish hook-style clasp of yellow gold. A hinged safety latch encloses the fish hook for extra security. In excellent condition, this antique brooch would make a wonderful addition to a collection of jewelry from yesteryear. The brooch?s 18k gold and sterling silver composition has been professionally tested and verified.
