Old World charm! Created by Krementz in 14k yellow gold, this Victorian Revival piece dates from circa 1940?s-1950?s. The necklace consists of a fine cable chain and an ornate festoon-style pendant adorned with genuine amethysts and seed pearls. The festoon features a filigreed design of hearts and flourishes that form frames for the amethysts and pearls. Bezel-set in the center of the festoon and prong-set in shield-shaped adornments on the sides, the amethysts are ported from the underside so that light flows through the gems to accentuate their royal-purple color. Six perfectly-matched seed pearls add alabaster-white luster to the center of the necklace. Gold purity stamps on the back of the festoon and on the chain?s spring-ring clasp verify the necklace?s 14k composition. The clasp also reveals a Krementz maker?s mark. In excellent condition, this necklace would make a wonderful gift for someone who cherishes jewelry from yesteryear.
